The Legacy of Lamb Grays Harbor Co.

Lamb Grays Harbor Co., is an integral member of an international group of companies with traditions dating back more than 100 years.

In 1906 the Hoquiam Machine Works was founded in the heavily timbered northwestern corner of Washington State, USA. In 1912 the company’s name was changed to Lamb Machine Co. When the company took over the Grays Harbor Iron Works in 1928, Lamb Grays Harbor Co. came into existence. At that time Lamb supplied innovative equipment for timber logging such as cable railway machinery and tracked off-road yarding vehicles. These were of great importance to the wood industry and especially useful for logging rough, mountainous terrain.

From 1935 on Lamb Grays Harbor Co. concentrated on the pulp and paper industry, specializing in the areas of engineering and new product development. The company quickly became the pioneering leader in automatic handling and wrapping systems for paper rolls and pulp bales. In 1938, for example, the first pulp cutter was delivered to industry.

In 2001 Legacy Automation, Inc. (LAI) began operation. The mission of LAI is delivery of strong ROI to the customer through innovative solutions for real-world production challenges.  Great pride is taken in the application of the appropriate current technology based on the unparalleled expertise of our technical staff; experience gained through years of design work at Lamb Grays Harbor Co.

Legacy Automation Inc.  Is the exclusive licensed source for all Lamb Grays Harbor Co. technologies, designs and associated services.  Competence in technology, quality and execution insure continuing value for our customers.
